Gespot! Kleurrijk Sportcentrum KOZ architecten
The cheerful, animated cubist block that is the Saint-Exupéry Sports and Leisure Centre enlivens the Parisian suburb of Saint-Cloud. The project was realized by Paris-based architects KOZ, part of the Plan01 collective.

Rising from a relatively narrow plot of land, the centre – catering for schoolchildren and adolescents – features vertically stacked volumes which are united by a concrete ‘ribbon’ that runs through the entire 1600-m2 complex. The façade consists of panels of tinted glass, ranging from bright green to bold red. Because the same colour scheme was applied indoors as well, it’s easy for users and visitors approaching the building to identify specific activities going on inside.
The Saint-Exupéry Sports and Leisure Centre offers youngsters a varied programme of sports and recreational pastimes, which take place throughout the building, including the extra-wide corridors and passages that link the two volumes of the complex. A spacious ramp leads to an outdoor playground and games area that is situated on the roof. The building becomes even more inviting when lit up at night.
